How to upload a private icon on CocoPPa

Ever really wanted an icon, but it just wasn't approved by CocoPPa?  Well here are instructions on how to load it as a private icon so you can still use it.  I have not made sure that CocoPPa is set up to redirect to iTunes, so if it isn't I'm sorry.  At least you'll learn how to upload the icons. :)

STEP 1:

Find and save the icon you want to your computer or iPhone.  If you save it to your computer, you'll have to email it to your self and save it on your iPhone or sync your phone with your computer and sync photos. And lets say we are going to set up this photo...

STEP 2:

After you have saved the photo to your camera roll on your iPhone, open CocoPPa.  There is a tool bar of buttons on the bottom of the screen, click the middle one.

STEP 3:

When you click the middle botton a screen will come put with four squares on it.  The first one says icon, click on it.

STEP 4:

A dark gray box will pop up on the bottom.  You will want to choose your photo from the library.

Next two steeps just follow the pictures...

STEP 5:

STEP 6:

STEP 7:

A black screen will come up with your icon in the middle asking your to "Move and Scale".  Most of the time they are the correct scale and in the correct place, but if you need to change it, now is the time to do so.  With this image I do not have to do anything, so I just went ahead and clicked "Choose".

STEP 8:

First you will want to name your icon. That part is required.

STEP 9:

The stuff in the blue box is optional and doesn't really matter if your icon is going to be private, but if you are like me and feel you need to complete it, go ahead.  Next you will want to make sure the "Open level" is set to "Private".  If for some reason its on "Public", that's fine, CocoPPa just might not approve it.  When you are done, click "post".

Step 10:

After you click post, a blue box will pop up telling you that your post is complete and that it can be found on "Mypage".  That is the last button on the tool bar.

STEP 11:

You're done!!!  Now you will want to set up your icon.  If you are not sure how to do that, please refer to my previous posts.

Adding Icons to your homescreen with CocoPPa

I didn't do a blog post on this before since no one had asked me how to do it, but since I published the other two posts, I've had several questions on how to add the icons for normal apps to your homescreen.  So here are the directions.

1.

You want to pick out the icon that you like and click on it.  It will take you to a screen that looks a lot like the the one above.  Click "Set up link".

2.

You will want to click on the part that says "App Search"

3.

Next you can scroll through the apps or do a search.  Once you find your app, then click on it.

4.

Double check that you have the right app and the correct name for that app.  Once you've done all of that click "ok".

5.

The screen will dim and this blue box will pop up asking you if it's ok if you are redirected to Safari.  Click "yes".  You will be directed to Safari, and it can take a little bit so be patient

6.

The Safari page that opens will look a lot like this one. At the bottom of the screen there is a little box with like an arrow pointing out of it, click on that.

7.

Next, you will have to click on the middle button that says "Add to Home Screen" under it.

8.

Double check everything AGAIN.  If everything is correct, click "Add".

9.

Now you will notice that the icon has been added to your homescreen, and the other App icon is still there.  You have to keep the old app icon so that the new icon will work. I have all of mine in folders.

If there are any questions, please feel free to contact me.  My screen name on CocoPPa is mrsmarohn if you want to follow me or download any of my icons or wallpapers.

Setting up messages icon through the app cocoPPa.

Step 1:

Easy... open the app cocoPPa.

Step 2:

Find the message icon that you would like to use.

Step 3:

Click the "Set up link" tab shown below.

Step 4:

Scroll down until you find the messages section, and click on it.

Step 5:

When the blue confirmation box pops up, click the button that says "Phone Call".  Don't worry it won't actually make a phone call.

Step 6:

You can either enter the phone number manually  or select one from your phone book.  When you are done, click the "Done" button.

Step 7:

Enter the name of the person you want this icon to be set up for, double check that you have their number in correctly, and click OK.

Step 8:

Another blue confirmation box will pop up, be sure to click "Yes".

Step 9:

Click the button that they arrow is pointing to.

Step 10:

Click the button that looks like the icon you selected and says "Add to Home Screen" below it.

Step 11:

Check to make sure you have the name spelled correctly, and then click "Add".

Step 12:

Congratulations!!!  It's now on your home screen!!!!

The only problem is that it can only be set up for one contact per icon.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave a comment

How to use phone icons on CocoPPa

I've had several people ask me how to use the phone icons that I've made and uploaded to the app, cocoPPa, so I thought I would do a step by step tutorial that I can direct people to instead of trying to explain it in like 75 words.

So here it goes...

Step 1:

Very simple... open up the app.

Step 2:

Select the phone icon you want and click on it,

Step 3:

Click "Set up link".

Step 4:

Click on "Phone call"

Step 5:

Input the phone number or select a number from your phone book for the person you would want this icon to call.  You can only do one (1) person per icon.

Step 6:

Name your icon and click "ok".

Step 7:

A blue confirmation box will pop up, just click "yes".

Step 8:

It will redirect you Safari.  Once it loads, click the button shown above.

Step 9:

Click the middle button, like above.

Step 10:

Name your icon... again... and click "Add".

Step 11:

Once you click on the icon it will redirect a couple of times, then call that contact.

Hope that helps.  If you need any more help, leave a comment.
